Charles Abbott, P.E., Chief Operating Officer. 

Mr. Abbott has over 25 years of experience in engineering management, power generation, cogeneration and district energy.  He developed and operated numerous steam, chilled water and cogeneration projects. 

As Chief Operating Officer of Alea Management, LLC and Source IT Energy, Mr. Abbott provides detailed technical, engineering and strategic support for partner companies seeking assistance in the execution of their strategies.  Mr. Abbott’s strong background in mechanical engineering and practical knowledge building and operating a wide variety of electric, steam and cooling equipment provides partner companies with the practical tools to execute on their strategies.

From 1993 to 2008, Mr. Abbott has served in various capacities ultimately as Chief Operating Officer for The Trigen Companies, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations, cost control, and internal growth for Trigen Energy Corporation’s district energy systems.  From 2000-2002, he served as President, Trigen Baltimore Energy Corporation where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations and internal growth of the district steam systems in Baltimore, including the development, construction and operation of energy assets serving the Washington, D.C. Convention Center, University of Maryland College Park, Millennium Chemicals and Sweetheart Cup.  Prior to this position, Mr. Abbott was responsible for managing a 40 MW coal fired cogeneration facility in Colorado, the development of a biogas fired cogeneration facility in Denver and the operation of the steam generation plants serving the district steam system in Philadelphia.

Mr. Abbott has a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from the Daniels School of Business, University of Denver.  Mr. Abbott is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
